A drug company seeking to delay approval of its Viagra pill to treat high blood pressure has received approval from the U. S. Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA's approval of the drug is the latest attempt by drug giant Pfizer to delay approval of the impotence drug to treat high blood pressure.
Pfizer's move was hailed by drug giant Pfizer when the drug was listed on the New Drug Application (NDA).
"While it is not a drug specifically approved by FDA to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), it is approved to treat other conditions, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, and high blood pressure," the FDA said in a statement.
Pfizer said it will conduct a review of the FDA approval process to evaluate its safety and efficacy.
Under the terms of Pfizer's NDA, the company must seek approval from the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, an agency that tracks drug development and reviews safety and efficacy. The drug, which will be sold through generic distributors, has been available for sale in the U. since April 2014.
The company's U. headquarters will be located in Raleigh, N. C., with operations underway in Atlanta and Houston.

Pfizer said the drug's safety and efficacy were "particularly important" for the company's efforts to address the issue of high blood pressure.

It’s been a long time coming. In the summer of 2019, I was at a family gathering and decided to take a moment and just get my hands on a prescription for a Viagra. In a study published recently in the journalViruses, researchers found that the consumption of Viagra in India led to a significant increase in the incidence of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men with cardiovascular disease. In a comparison of the prevalence of ED in men aged 18 to 74 years old, Viagra was found to increase the risk of ED by 44%.
In fact, the study found that the consumption of the drug increased the incidence of ED by 44% in men aged 18 to 74 years old.
“The incidence of ED was found to be higher in the second and third decades of life for men aged 18 to 74 years old,” said lead author Dr. Nitin Bhat, a urologist at The University of Western Ontario, who led the study.
Dr. Bhat is one of the authors of the report. He has received grants from Pfizer and has authored or co-published more than 50 other related articles.
