A Japanese man has been arrested for allegedly smuggling Viagra pills into the United States and putting them into a warehouse.
The 34-year-old from Tokyo has been charged with smuggling, but is believed to have used a shipping facility, which is owned by the company and used by the Ministry of Food and Drug Administration, to make the pill.
The charges, which were laid Monday, are based on reports that the company used the shipping facility to make the pills.
The case is being prosecuted by the National Police.
The case was initially investigated by the U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) after it was revealed that the man had used the shipping facility to make the pills.
The product was discovered at the site of the shipment on Oct. 28, 2017, according to the CBP.
The report on the case by the Japanese press agency said the man had been involved in the smuggling of Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs by means of various companies, including those of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The reports stated that the man was arrested and charged with smuggling a shipment of the Viagra pill into the United States and putting it in the warehouse.
A CBP official confirmed to The New York Post that the man was arrested and the report on the case was made public. The official stated that the suspect had used the shipping facility to make the pills.
